The brushed aluminum plating is laser-cut from plastic stock manufactured by Romark. It is cut to match the same contour as the acrylic spinnaker sail. The advantage of using Romark plastic stock over actual metal is that it can be laser-cut into shapes or patterns.
After cutting to shape, the plating is then surface engraved with the laser, adding the logo and text.
